WEDNESDAY MARCH 24, 2004
TERM 1, ISSUE 5
ST MICHAEL'S SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
I realise that it is not Friday yet (though it wouldn't surprise me the
way the weeks are flying past), but there is a lot of reminders for the
end of this week and so the newsletter is going out a couple of days earlier
than usual. Also I will be at a Catholic Principals Meeting on Friday.
To remind children to show their parents the newsletter I have included
a tear off bit at the bottom for parents to sign and children to bring
back to school. They will go into a drawer for a free lunch for all the
family members at school, on Wednesday.
BOARD OF TRUSTEES-We will not be required to hold an election as we had
the exact number of parent reps nominated (five). Therefore congratulations
to returning Board Members Mena Akuso, Manuele Paselio, and Malo Taeao
and welcome to two new members Alisi Manu and Sina Solia. Proprietors
reps returning are Justine Martin, Va Mar and Father Steph. Another proprietors
rep will be added to the Board shortly. Bernadette McVey will also be
returning as staff rep. The Board meeting in April will be the final one
for the old Board as the new one takes over after the AGM in May. Thank
you to Ene Alataua who has been an active, hardworking Board member over
the last 3 years, all your hard work has been appreciated It is with a
great deal of sadness that we farewell John Carr who has been on the Board
from the time Tomorrows Schools began in 1989-15 years, the last 9 as
chairperson. John has guided the school through a great many changes and
has been a huge support for me over the last 18 months. His input into
the running of the school, his visits on business or for a cup of tea
and a chat and his ongoing support for the school will be missed.
