Welcome to Janine Siu(room 1), Brooke Hanlon (room 2), Liam Hanlon (room 3) and Kalatiola Viliamu (room 8).It is lovely to have so many new children at our school.
It is with sadness that we farewell Petelo and Ioane Sola who are moving out of the area. We will all miss you and wish you all the best
Congratulations to Fololina Alatini who brought back the bottom of the last newsletter and was pulled out of the draw for a free lunch.
WHITEBOARD- A whiteboard will be out by the front door each morning with the events that are happening that day, reminders about things coming up etc. Please have a read if you come into the school
The last day for the homework centre is Tuesday June 29
EARLY CLOSINGThe third of our professional development meetings is on the first day back-Monday July 19. It goes from 2.30 until 7.30. The school will therefore be closing at the earlier time of 2pm.

LAST WEEK OF TERM
Next week is the last week of the term-half the year has gone already. I will not be in the school next week as I am attending the New Zealand and Australian Principals Conference in Melbourne. Mrs McVey will be the acting principal during the week. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents who have been involved with the school during the term, through electives, reading programmes, sports events, homework centre and labelling resources. I hope you all enjoy a well earned break with your children over the holidays Linda
LOST PROPERTY-There is a huge amount of lost property - both uniform and mufti at school. During next week this will be on display for you or your child to claim. Anything left on Friday, July 2, will be put in a recycled clothing bin. School clothes need to be named. There are a number of sweatshirts in the school, unclaimed and unnamed.
PARENT INTERVIEWS-Thanks to the many parents who attended these. If you were unable to attend and would still like to speak with your child's teacher it is not too late. Ring the school and make an appointment. Please remember that all the Achievement Books need to be back at school before the end of term.
HEALTH MEETING-Next term on Tuesday July 27, we will be holding a meeting for all parents in the school to discuss a variety of health issues, including scabies, headlice, school sores and nutrition. The school's new social worker Lorainne Sami will also be attending the meeting to discuss the service that she offers. The meeting will start at 5.30. More details next term.
UNIFORM-The uniform shop is open every Wednesday afternoon for parents to order or purchase new uniform. There are a number of children now wearing the new uniform and it certainly looks smart. Don't forget that socks can also be purchased through the uniform shop at a very reasonable price.
BAPTISM- Later in the year we will be running a Baptism programme for those non Catholic children who wish to be Baptised Catholic. Last year six of our children took up this opportunity and it was wonderful to celebrate this special occasion with them. Next term letters will be sent out to our non Catholic families inviting you to participate if you would like to.

MUFTI MANIA
On the last day of the term, Friday July 2, we are having a mufti day. This day is called "mufti mania". Every year the Catholic Principal's Association throughout New Zealand organise a nation wide mufti day when the money collected is given to people less fortunate than us. This year the money is for the children in Papua New Guinea.
We ask you all to support this day by giving your children a gold coin for the privilege of wearing mufti and at the same time living the Gospel Values by helping others.
