PARENT MEETING
Next Tuesday night, July 27th, a meeting is being held for all parents to share what the children are doing this term. As the major focus will be on Health we will be having the public health nurse in to talk about food, nutrition and health issues that effect our children. The meeting will start with a cup of tea and biscuits at 5.30 and will be finished by 7pm. All parents attending will be put in a lucky draw for petrol vouchers. It would be really great if one adult from every family could attend. Thank you

PADDY MARKET-The bi annual Paddy Market will be held on Thursday August 19. It is being planned and run by the senior children in the school, with the money raised being used to help those less fortunate than ourselves. It is important to teach children to think of others and to develop a sense of social responsibility. The children are very excited and enthusiastic and have really thrown themselves into this project. A grocery raffle is part of the Market and ALL children are asked to bring an item for this.
SCHOOL HOURS-Just a reminder to parents that school starts at 8.45 and finishes at 2.45. Whilst there is always someone at school from around 8a.m., teachers are not officially on duty until 8.30, so do not expect children who are at school earlier than this to be supervised.
WINTER CLOTHING-Often during the winter the grass is dry enough to play on but children must have spare clothes to wear. It is often quite muddy and they cannot play on the grass in their school uniform. Jackets need to be worn to school during the winter. We try to get children outside for at least part of each day, for fresh air and exercise, and some children are not wearing warm enough clothing for this.

COMPUTER SOFTWARE-Our school is participating in the Community Software Plan for Numbers Up, Volcanic Panic. Under this arrangement families can purchase copies of this maths software for $37.50 (reduced from $75) A parent information leaflet and order form are attached to this newsletter. Orders need to be returned to the school by Friday August 6.
ARTS SPLASH-Our performance for Artsplash will be on Tuesday August 3, at 5.30. Tickets cost $2.50. The children in the choir DO NOT have to pay-only those people going to the performance.
MENINGITIS INFORMATION-On Thursday August 12 at 1pm there will be a fono to discuss meningitis and what is happening with the vaccination programme. This meeting is being held at the Taita Community Hall..

A very warm welcome to our new students: Bailey Mason and Janine Siu in room 1, Milanese Lasike in room 2 and a brand new five year old Sulami Moemai in room 8. .

Reminder to those parents who have not paid their children's manual fee-this is now OVERDUE.
