PADDY MARKET
As you will all be aware by now, we had to postpone the Paddy Market,
due to the terrible weather. It would have been a shame for the
children to have gone to all that work and then have no one come
to it because of the weather. It will now be held next Friday August
27th. Plates will be sent home on Thursday for people to bring their
home baking on.
NETBALL-The last round of netball will be played tomorrow, Saturday
August 21. Prize giving will be held on Saturday September 4, at
the Walter Nash Stadium.
HOMEWORK CENTRE-As Nicolle is unable to supervise the homework centre
over the next two weeks, we will need as many parents as possible
to help out, especially on the two Tuesdays. The homework centre
will not be open on Thursday August 26
ABSENSES-Thank you to all those parents who ring the school when
their children are not well. Remember it is important for us to
know if your child is not coming to school. If your child is sick
for two or three days, it is a good idea to ring and just let us
know each morning that they are still not well enough to come to
school.
BOT-Due to the weather and illness the Board meeting was postponed
last Wednesday night. It will now be this Tuesday August 24 at 7pm.
Please ring the school if you are unable to make it.
COMMUNITY SOCIAL
Over the last couple of years our cluster of schools Pomare, Taita
Central, Avalon Intermediate and St Michael's, have done lots of
good things for our kids-homework centre, career day in Wellington,
cultural experiences etc. We feel its now time we did something
for our parents so
...on Friday September 10 there will be
a community social evening for all parents at the Taita Community
Hall from 7 to 11, with music, food etc. Write this date down now
and there will be more details later..
Pacific Portraits-These make an awesome Christmas present for families
in New Zealand and overseas and they are very reasonably priced.
These will be taken in the school hall on Saturday September 11.Please
book your family portrait as soon as possible. The $10 must be sent
in with the form (more forms are available at the office).
Uniforms-We have a good supply of uniform items at the moment
Girls and boys long and short sox ($5 short, $7 long). Tights and
pantyhose $7.
Long sleeved poloshirts for juniors ($28-$33) and long sleeved shirts
available for seniors ($25-$30)
Lollies are not permitted at school-at the moment we have a number
of children bringing these to school
I have read this weeks newsletter (Friday August 6)
