Welcome to the newest members of our school family, Leini and Tui Tapueluelu It is great to have you here.

Family Portraits-These will be taken on Saturday September 11. Appointment times will be sent home on Monday. Please contact Ronwyn if unsuitable, asap. There are still appointment times available.

Road Safety Tips - Adults should always set a good example by wearing their safety belt; children learn by copying what we do.

Community Social-On Friday September 10 at the Taita Community Hall from 7pm to 11pm. Entry is free but people are asked to bring a plate for supper.

Congratulations to the Flipper Ball team who won the final 9-8 against Pomare.

PADDY MARKET-Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles and friends of the school who helped make our Paddy Market so successful. Your generosity in the contributions you made is really appreciated. The Paddy market raised just on $780. Some of this money will be used to sponsor a World Vision child.

HOMEWORK CENTRE-A reminder that the homework centre will not be open on Tuesday September 7. It will be open on Wednesday and Thursday. Thursday 9 will be the last day for the centre this term..
MASS-It has been lovely to see so many parents join their children for Mass on a Thursday morning. It is a great way for our children to get to know members of the Parish and we hope to carry it on next term. Next week room 3 will be going and the last week of term room 1 will be joining with the residence of Aroha Home for Mass

ERO-Next week our school is being visited by the Education Review Office. The reviewers are Nicki Sturgeon, Michele Whiting and Linda Gendall. They will be in the school from Tuesday 7 until Thursday 9. During this time they will be talking to teachers, children, Board members and myself about the teaching, learning, management and governance of the school. We will be having a brief welcome on Tuesday morning at 9am. Parents are very welcome to join us for this,

PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE-My name is Martha Prasad, your Public Health Nurse. I am based at St Michael's School every Wednesday morning, to discuss health concerns that you may have for your child. If I am not able to be at school on the Wednesday I will let the school know. I am very supportive of the school staff in trying to encourage children to think about the foods they are eating and to drink water rather than fizzy drinks

I have read this weeks newsletter (Friday August 6)
