Term 4, Issue 1
Welcome back to the last term of the year. This term is always a
very busy one, with lots of outdoor activities, sporting events
and end of year celebrations. Attached to this newsletter is a calendar
with the dates of events that we already know about. There will
be a few things that come up during the term that we will let you
know about at the time.
UNIFORM-Children may wear either summer or winter uniform between
now and Labour Weekend (Monday October 25), depending on the weather.
After Labour Weekend they must wear Summer Uniform. Junior girls
: white short sleeved polo shirt, pinafore (or the shorts if you
are still using the old uniform), sweatshirt, sunhat and sandals
(black or brown Roman Sandals). Senior girls:: white short sleeved
blouse, skirt (or shorts if you are still using the old uniform),
sweatshirt, sunhat and sandals (black or brown Roman Sandals). Junior
boys: grey short sleeved polo shirt, pull on black shorts, sweatshirt,
sunhat and sandals (black or brown Roman Sandals). Senior boys:
short sleeved grey shirt, black zipped shorts, sweatshirt, sunhat
and sandals (brown or black Roman Sandals) Boys who are not yet
wearing the new uniform, may wear the maroon shorts. All uniform,
except for the sandals, can be purchased through the school. Ronwyn
Coffey will be available from 8.30 to 9.30 on a Wednesday morning
and from 2pm to 3pm on a Wednesday afternoon for people to try on,
order or pay for uniform. There are some good deals on sandals around
the place. The Number One Shoe Warehouse has three pairs of shoes
for the price of two (and they are good quality Roman Sandals).
DRINKS-As from Monday the school will no longer be selling drinks
through the tuck shop. Water is the best drink for your child to
have and children who have water bottles will be able to refill
them from the outside taps
TELECOM SCHOOL CONNECTION-You can support the school if you are
a Telecom user, by joining School Connection. Part of your toll
bill is donated to the school to help purchase computer and IT resources.
The school office has a simple form that you need to fill out.
LATENESS-I know that daylight saving has upset the body clocks for
a lot of us, but at the moment there are too many children arriving
late for school. During the month of October we start the day altogether,
with a decade of the Rosary, in the hall. Each morning a number
of children walk in during this time. Please ensure that your child
is here by 8.45. Thank You. Parents are very welcome to join us
in saying the rosary in the mornings.
WELCOME-A very warm welcome to our new children and their families.
A big hello to: Danielle Tafili in room 8, Mazviita Foto in room
7, Jordahna Toomalatai in room 1, Petrina Toomalatai in room 3 and
Sally Toomalatai in room 12
MONDAY- The school cross country will be held at 11am (all children
must bring PE gear and suitable footwear).
TUESDAY-The choir and poly group are performing at Naenae College
on Tuesday night at 7pm. A reminder that the children involved need
to be at the school by 6pm to get ready. They will be going to the
College on Tuesday morning for a rehearsal.
THURSDAY- Room 3 will be attending Mass in the school hall at 9am.
It is lovely to see so many parents joining us for Mass on a Thursday.
Girls who are going to Sacred Heart next year will be attending
the college in the morning for orientation.
FRIDAY- BP technology challenge at Naenae Intermediate-this will
involve 12 of our children. The Poly group are attending and performing
at an open day at Koraunui Marae, starting at 10.
I have read the newsletter dated Friday October 8. Signed ____________________________
