CULTURAL DAY- Next Friday we will be having our Cultural Day. This
is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate the diverse and rich
range of cultures represented in our school. The day will start
with a Mass where all the different school cultures will be acknowledged
through prayers and readings in other languages. After morning tea
children will go into groups to work at different activities, most
of which will have a cultural aspect to them. We are still looking
for parents to help with this so if you are interested please see
Mrs McVey or Mrs Birch. In the afternoon we will be having a concert
and hope that many of you will be able to make it to this. Children
are able to wear national costume or their school uniform on this
day. There will be a separate newsletter coming out next week.
CAMP-Thank you to all the parents who attended the camp meeting
on Tuesday night. It was great to have so much enthusiasm and support.
Grant applications and letters have been sent out, so we now have
to wait. The sale of raffle tickets is going very well. If you are
unable to sell yours make sure they are back by November 1 so that
they can be sold by someone else.
TELECOM SCHOOL CONNECTION-You can support the school if you are
a Telecom user, by joining School Connection. Part of your toll
bill is donated to the school to help purchase computer and IT resources.
The school office has a simple form that you need to fill out.
PARENT MEETING-A community parent meting is to be held on Tuesday
26th at 5.30. The meeting will review the "Development Pasifika"
plan drawn up at the beginning of the year as well as look at activities
coming up in the last few weeks of school..
WELCOME-In the last two weeks we have had two children start in
the new entrant class. A big welcome to Freedom Wichman and Foua
Lefaoseu, both who have brothers at the school. It is lovely to
have you at school Freedom and Foua.
